Capital Chengdu shows a modern face, but just beyond its bustling ring roads you'll find a more traditional landscape of mist-shrouded, sacred mountains, and a countryside scattered with ancient villages and cliffs of carved Buddhas. To the north, the visage changes into a fairyland of alpine valleys and blue-green lakes. Sichuan's Tibetan face appears as you venture west. Kham, one of the former Tibetan prefecture, is a vast landscape of plateau grasslands and glacial mountains where Tibetan culture still thrives and you're certain to have your most challenges, yet most magical, experiences.

A Hug with Leshan Grand Buddha
Sitting on the confluence of the Dadu, Mín and Qingyi rivers it is most famous for its huge riverside cliff-carving of Buddha and nearby Mount Emei, which together are a World Heritage Site. It is a easy day trip from Chengdu or stopover en route to or from Emei Shan.
Besides the Giant Buddha, we will visit the Mahaoya Tombs Museum as well as Wuyou Temple. The former has a collection of tombs and burial artifacts dating from the Easter Han dynasty. The latter is highlighted in the Luohan Hall - 1000 terracotta arhat (Buddhist celestial beings, similar to angels).
Sacred Mt. Emeishan Trek Tour
Mt. Emei, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands at 3099 meters (10,167 feet), and is associated with Puxian Bodhisattva (Samantabhadra) - a representation of 'Great Practice' and 'Great Virtue'. Ever since Buddhism arrived in China, it has been an important center of refuge, and the mountain contains more than one hundred temples and monasteries.

Jiuzhaigou National Park
Jiuzhaigou refers to the nine Tibetan villages, which is one of Sichuan's star attractions, an enchanting Unesco World Heritage Site. It is famous for its bluer-than-blue lakes, rushing waterfalls and deep wood-lands backlit by snowy mountains. There are some tips for the easiest visit to it: starting early, going up fist, getting off the bus, packing a lunch, taking it easy.
The main sites we are going to visit are Sparking Lake, Shuzheng Waterfall, Nuorilang Waterfall, Long Lake, Five-colored Pool, Swan Lake, Mirror Lake, Panda Lake, Pearl Shoals. To explore around, it takes an entire day from the early morning to the late afternoon.
Yading National Reserve
Yading National Reserve is probably the most magnificent nature reserve in China. It is located 140km south of Daocheng, centers around three sacred snow-capped mountains, a holy trinity encircled bu forested valleys, crystal-clear rivers and glacier-fed lakes. There are, quite simply, some of the most stunning landscapes you'll never see. There are opportunities to hike, bike and camp here.
Fun with Giant Pandas
Home to nearly 120 giant pandas and 76 red pandas, it is one of Chengdu's most popular attraction. March to May is the 'fall in love period'. If you visit in autumn or winter, you may see some newborns in the nursery. We will visit it at 9:00 am since pandas are most active in the morning and also because feeding takes place around 9:30 am although you'll see them eating in the late afternoon. Kangding Trek Tour

Qingchengshan is one of the ancient cradles of Taoism in China. The mountain complex is home to both many Taoist and Buddhist temples and sites along the paths that wind up to its peaks. The main entrance is on the mountains's front side, and leads to paths that wind past 11 important Taoist sites. It is a relatively easy climb - four hours up and down. The back entrance to the mountain is much less touristy (crowded) and much more quiet and should be preferred by those who have hiking as their priority. It has 20km of rugged pathways -expect a six-hour hike to the summit, where you will find the Baiyun Temple.
Dujiangyan Irrigation Project
It is a system olf channels, floodgates and weirs, constructed in the 3rd century BC, is the only surviving non-dam irrigation system in the world. It is still in use. This feat of engineering is in a bearutifully scenic area with forested hills, ancient temples, hilltop pagodas and coursing waters. Combined with another Dujiangyan's World Heritage Site Qingchengshan, it makes a good one day trip. We will start to visit Chengchengshan at 9 am and conclude the tour at 5 pm in Dujiangyan.
Chengdu City Tour
Chengdu is always a draw to tourists. Perhaps it's because of its truly fabulous food, the giant panda, the lively nightlife, the relaxing tea-house culture or the laid-back local folk.
Wenshu Temple is Chengdu's largest and best-preserved Buddhist temple. In People's Park, locals fills in it with dancing, song and taichi. Qingyang Temple is Chengdu's oldest and most extensive Taoist temple with it highlight, the unusually squat, eight-sided pagoda. Wuhou Temple and Jinli ancient restored alleyways are respectively suitable for an afternoon and evening visit.
