Overview

After that, head straight to Gyantse and Shigatse in the west, experience the distinct culture of western (Tsang) Tibet, by driving along the stunning turquoise color lake Yamdrok and blooming Nyenchen Kangsar glacier under the sunny plateau climate, you will never waste every single minute by discovering new experiences and wonders on the way to Gyantse and Shigatse. Undoubtedly more magnificent than any of her Himalayan neighbours, Mt Everest viewed from Tibet, unobscured by other mountains, it’s hard not to feel awed by one of nature’s boldest achievement. Then a day excursion to the holy lake Namtso which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and the second largest alpine saline lake in Tibet with an altitude of 4,718 meters above sea level.

Today we will travel on some of the most beautiful roads in Tibet on our drive to Shigatse.

Be prepared to take photos of the breathtaking views as we go up to the highest point of the day – Kamba La Pass (almost 4,800 meters / 15,750 ft).

Our next stop will be at the Yamdrok Lake. It is one of the holy lakes in Tibet, and it is famous for its turquoise colored water.

After that, we will head towards Gyantse. On the way there, we will make a stop to see the spectacular glaciers.

In Gyantse, we will visit the Pelkor Chode monastery and Kumbum – the biggest stupa in Tibet.

Finally, we will reach Shigatse late in the evening and stay there overnight.

Today we will be driving from Shigatse to Saga. We will make some stops along the way to take photos.

First, we will drive to Langtso Lakea which is a cobalt blue lake altitude 4600m. After checking out the lake we continue to Saga. We are driving through vast grasslands, where many nomads set up their tents.We are staying overnight in Saga hotel.

On this 3rd day we will drive to Drongpa County, which was founded around the bountiful resources of the Brahmaputra River. We will make a stop in a small village along the main road that consists of only a few basic guesthouses, restaurants and a small monastery known as “Old Drongpa”. Scattered around the monastery you will be able to observe a pile of yak heads that are carved with “sutras” and “mantras”. New Drongpa is another small town with a few shops, hotels and restaurants located about 25 kilometers from Old Drongpa monastery. We will continue on to the Baryang Township (elevation 4750 meters) and drive around Lake Manasarovar before reaching our final destination for the day, Darchen, where we will spend the night.

After drive across the holy mount,we will see a unique geomorphology type named “forest soil” around Zhada, of the nominated property belongs to the forest soil type but exhibits distinctive features, making a “Guge type”.The most mysterious part of the Guge Kingdom is how the kingdom with such a mature and splendid culture suddenly and completely disappeared overnight. In the centuries that followed, humans barely knew its existence, no human to destroy its buildings and streets, to correct its characters and religions, to tamper with its murals and artistic style. It even keeps the scene of destruction, and the only thing that can't be understood is how it all happened.

Starting at 7:00 in the morning to see the Tulin Sunrise is definitely a must-see theme. After visiting the original road, return to Saga County, the road passes through the Shiquan River,which originates from the northern part of the Kailash.It’s named after the cliff that looks like a male lion.

On the way back, we pass the Kailash Peak and arrived at Payang Town at about noon. Payang Town is a small town in Zhongba County. It has a different style and is closed for lunch at noon.

After lunch, travel on the middle road between Payang and Zhongba, there was a big desert on the plateau. The back of the sand was the Maquan River, the upper reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. Along the way, there are wild animals such as wild yak, Tibetan antelope, yellow sheep and Tibetan wild donkey.on G219 national road, with countless snow-capped mountains and wide grasslands ,we will arrive and stay in Saga at night.

Today we will drive from Saga County to Pelkhu-tso Lake,Mount Shishapangma (elevation 8012 meters), which was the last of the world’s 8000-meter peaks to be climbed. The road conditions get rougher.Then we set out towards the peak of the world–Mount Everest. You will see some of the most beautiful and unique scenery in the world – incredibly blue skies, floating high clouds, endless grasslands and the highest mountain peaks in the world. We’ll also stop by the Rongbuk Monastery – the world’s highest altitude monastery before spending the night at the Everest Base Camp.

In the morning, enjoy the sunrise of the world's highest peak, return to Shigatse after a small break in the base camp, and climb over the 5210-meter-high Gaura Pass on the way to look back at Mount Everest.

Continue on to the Gyatso Pass (5220 meters above sea level), which is also the mountain pass of the Everest National Nature Reserve. This area is sparsely populated, except for the gray mountain road, there is almost no trace of life. Tibetan flags are everywhere. Check in at Shigatse in the evening.

After breakfast, head to one of the three holy lakes-Namtso.drive along the Yarlung Zangbo River, Arriving in Nimu, road is narrow but the scenery is very beautiful.

The road from Nimu to Yangbajing is about 20 kilometers of dirt roads but in good condition. In the afternoon, passing through Yangbajing on G109 National Highway , along the way we will see groups of yaks on the northern Tibetan grassland. Here you can clearly see the Nyainqentanglha Mountain. Nianqing Tanggula Mountain is 7111 meters above sea level. The mountain is covered with snow all the year round. The glaciers are the water source of Namtso.Local people,which is regard as the protection god of Namtso, and Holy Mount. (Attention: shooting the prayer flags and the white pagoda on the observation deck please don’t shoot Tibetan yak or Tibetan mastiffs and other animals, to avoide unnecessary misunderstandings with Tibetan friends)

Continue on to the holy lake Namtso. About 8 kilometers from the county,We began to climb over the Nagora Mountain, which is 60 kilometers from Namtso. You can see the shadow of Namtso by turning over the Nagula Mountain. Namtso means "Lake in the sky" in Tibetan. Going through the grasslands of northern Tibet,there are groups of yaks and sheep on the way.Listening to Tibetan songs,you will get definitely an unforgettable experience. Check in at the Namtso Lake in the evening.

Because today we have plenty time, who want to turn to the lake can follow the path along the lake and follow the Tibetan grandmother who turns the scripture. And it takes an hour to get back to the accommodation. Along the way, you will pass the "good and evil caves" and other attractions. It is said that the good and evil caves will distinguish between good and evil. If you are a good person, you can also get through no matter how fat you are. If you are a wicked person, you can’t go through even you are very thin. Although it is a legend, you may be interested. Give it a try.

Say goodbye to the holy lake [Namtso], we will go to the highest temperature hot spring in the world - [Yangbajing Hot Spring]. Yangbajing Hot Spring is about 4,300 meters above sea level and the temperature is maintained at around 47 degrees. (Note: Hot springs may cause high altitude sickness, please arrange your time for hot springs according to your physical condition)

We will confirm your inquiry with a reply within 24 hours.

We highly recommend you that you reserve your tour at least 30-50 days before the actual travel date. We will send you a letter of confirmation 

via email once you have confirmed your booking with us, informing you of the your proposed flights, hotels and your trip details.

2. Payment Methods

We can confirm your tour reservation with a payment of 30% of the total tour cost plus 100% of the cost of any flights or train tickets required for your tour. You can then pay the balance due for your tour to our local staff after your arrival in Lhasa. 

3. Luggage Allowances

The regulations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China states that, the free baggage allowance within China is 20kg (44 pounds) for economy class flights, 30kg (66 pounds) for business class flights, and 40kg (88 pounds) for first class flights, plus limited carry-on luggage. Excess baggage charges are the sole responsibility of the traveler. Regulations within China specify that all suitcases must have a locking device attached. Failure to follow this regulation may result in refusal by airport staff to load suitcases onto the aircraft.

4. Itinerary changes and cancellations

We make every effort to operate tours as listed on our website, however, we reserve the right to modify the itinerary, or substitute the activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We also have the right to cancel a trip at any time prior to its commencement for every reason, like unforeseen circumstances, or circumstances beyond our control. In this cases we will re-book you on different day, however if we are unable to rebook you, we will issue a full field claim. 

5. Meals

All of our tours include a daily breakfast. Lunch and dinner is not included as we prefer to give the freedom to our clients to try the local food by themselves. Meals are usually served at the hotel. Dinner may also be served at a local restaurant. Although we cannot guarantee special meal requests, we will do our best to provide you with specialized dietary needs for meals as well as your special needs for hotel rooms such as adjacent or connecting rooms, bed sizes, etc.
